Dhyanamulam Guru – Sanskrit prayer on mentor/guide with meaning

This is a prayer for guru/teacher. In this prayer we learn that, form feet, words and grace are all important for success. Even if you achieve everything, you need grace of Guru for liberation.



Dhyaana-Muulam Gurur-Muurtih
Puujaa-Muulam Gurur-Padam |
Mantra-Muulam Gurur-Vaakyam
Mokssa-Muulam Guruur-Krpaa ||

ध्यानमूलं गुरुर्मूर्तिः
पूजामूलं गुरुर्पदम् ।
मन्त्रमूलं गुरुर्वाक्यं
मोक्षमूलं गुरूर्कृपा ॥



 



Meaning:
The Root of Meditation is the Form of the Guru,
The Root of Worship is the Feet of the Guru,
The Root of Mantra is the Word of the Guru,
The Root of Liberation is the Grace of the Guru.
